Personality:
- Mable has a fantastic personality! She warmed up to us very quickly and has become very affectionate. She will happily cuddle with you on the couch or in your bed. She just wants to be near her people!
- We absolutely love her and she would be a fantastic addition to anyone's home. She particularly loves to be tucked under blankets. She will paw at them until you help her get all tucked in and snuggled up.
- Even though she is 8 years old, she has a youthful energy and likes to play with her toys. But she is not a chewer, and has never tried to chew on something that wasn't hers.
Training Skills:
- Mable is extremely well potty trained. She has never had an accident and is great about letting us know when she has to go out.
- Mable walks well on a leash. Sometimes she gets a little excited, but is easy to control and will usually walk next to you with a slacked leash. She gets excited to put her harness on and loves to go on walks.
- Mable knows "sit" and "paw" and will happily do these tricks before she gets her meals or to get a treat.
- Mable is crate trained. While she doesn't love going into her crate, once you lead her in, she will lay down without any trouble.
- Mable is not at all reactive around other dogs. She will sometimes lean towards them for a sniff, but even if dogs are barking at her on the street, she will ignore them and walk on by.
- Sometimes Mable is a little scared by loud sounds and will startle or bark at them, but she calms down with a little encouragement and never barks more than once or twice.
Mable is currently in foster care, looking for her forever family. If you have additional questions or if you are interested in adopting this sweet girl you can contact her foster at Ellier2019@gmail.com

The Animal Care & Control Team of Philadelphia (ACCT Philly) is the region’s largest animal care and control service provider. ACCT Philly is an independent, 501c3 nonprofit organization, contracted by the City of Philadelphia to provide animal control services. Our animal control officers provide service over 142.6 square miles to the city’s more than 1.5 million residents and ACCT Philly’s facility in North Philadelphia handles more than 17,000 of the city’s animals, from dogs and cats, to small animals, reptiles, birds and wildlife, annually.
In addition to animal control and sheltering, ACCT Philly is open 365 days a year for pet adoptions. ACCT Philly also supports a foster care program where community members provide temporary homes for sheltered animals and one of the (if not THE) most extensive rescue partnership program in the country where approved rescue partners accept ACCT Philly animals into their adoption programs. Under contract ACCT Philly’s Animal Control Officers provide animal control services and code enforcement. Other exciting ACCT Philly programs include a food pantry for low-income pet owners, a vibrant volunteer program, trap-neuter-return for community cats, a unique Pen Pal program to assist dogs at risk … and so much more!
