Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jemma is a gentle young gal who shares a special bond with her sister, Abby. Like Abby, the shelter environment can feel overwhelming for her. In the play yard, Jemma tends to be more reserved—often hanging back and watching the other dogs play rather than jumping right in. Once settled into a home, she begins to open up, showing interest in toys and soaking up affection, especially when peanut butter is involved. Jemma is looking for a calm, loving home that will offer patience and support as she builds confidence and continues to grow alongside her sister.

More about this shelter
Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
