My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rusty: The Gentle Soul with a Heart of Gold

Meet Rusty, a 10-year-old black terrier mix whose kind eyes and calm spirit say it all. This sweet senior may be past his puppy days, but he still has endless love to give - and he’s hoping to find a forever home where he can spend his golden years surrounded by care and comfort.

Rusty is a gentle boy who loves nothing more than soft pets, quiet companionship, and a cozy spot to nap. He’s happy to mosey around, soaking up attention from anyone willing to give it, and is perfectly content just being near his people.

With his loving nature and easygoing personality, Rusty would thrive in a calm, caring home where he can relax, feel safe, and enjoy all the little pleasures he’s earned over the years.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will fill your days with quiet love and warmth, Rusty is ready to be your best friend.

More about this shelter

At Darbster Rescue, our goal is to place kittens, cats, and dogs with great, forever homes in New England. The pets are primarily from South Florida and other southern states where the euthanasia rates are very high. Our shelters are in New Hampshire which has a strong demand for pets relative to supply and where shelters like ours are strictly no kill operations. Our animals will go to their new homes spayed or neutered, UTD on shots and a clean bill of health from FL and NH. We are here to help everyone look for the perfect match for themselves and their family.
