My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looks like: Yorkshire Terrier
Male, 10 years old (estimated), 10 pounds

Meet Casper, the friendly pup! This senior lad is full of energy and loves to play with toys. He is a joyful guy with a big heart who is happy to tag along wherever you go. Sadly, Casper was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma. Without treatment his prognosis is only a few months to live. We are choosing to give him the best change possible so he is undergoing cancer treatment at a specialist in the Monterey area. Based on his energy and enthusiasm, you would never know he is fighting a serious illness! If his adopters are willing to continue bringing him to treatment appointments in Monterey post-adoption, POMDR will cover the cost of his treatment (approx. 288 days).

While Casper is very friendly and affiliative, he is working on resource guarding from both people and other dogs. While he does well with his foster pup sibling, we think he would also love to be an only dog where he doesn't have to share his toys. Casper does great around cats. He is looking for a forever home where he can float right into your heart (and toy bin).

Handsome Casper joined us from the Animal Resource Center of the Inland Empire. He was brought in as a stray. Due to his senior status, they felt he would do best in a senior focused rescue.
