Greer’s journey hasn’t been easy. She came to us from CACC after arriving there as a stray with her sister, Golly. When we first met her, she was absolutely petrified—frozen with fear. But behind those worried eyes is a tender heart just waiting for the right home to help her feel safe.
Greer is a super shy girl who will need a family that understands love takes time. With patience, kindness, and consistency, she will begin to trust and show the sweet companion she truly is. She thrives with canine companionship and feels most comfortable when she has another dog by her side to show her the ropes.
Her favorite place? Curled up as small as possible in your lap, soaking in gentle pets and quiet reassurance. Greer may take a while to blossom, but when she does, you’ll be rewarded with the loyalty and love of a dog who needed you most. 💕

Border Tails Rescue is a licensed no-kill animal rescue and welfare organization dedicated to the rescue and adoption of stray dogs across the world, with a unique focus on Mexico. Border Tails Rescue has a physical shelter facility with dogs on site for viewing everyday. Border Tails Rescue primarily works with rural shelters across the country, including but not limited to TX, AR, AL, LA, KY, IN, and MI on a regular basis as well as CACC, Chicago’s open intake shelter. BTR is Woman-founded by Harleigh Garcia, who was 20 years old at the time. The organization was founded in December of 2019 and Border Tails Rescue is registered with Illinois Secretary of State as a non profit organization. Border Tails Rescue operates entirely on donations and adoption fees.
