My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

✨ The silver supermodel with a secret heart of gold.

Smile has grown from bottle baby to teen kitty, and she’s every bit the supermodel of the household. With her luminous silver tabby coat, regal posture, and tail tipped skyward, she sits like royalty—chest out, paws primly placed, surveying her world with quiet confidence. She favors a cat tree hammock or bowl, and keeps her feline companions on their toes with playful ambushes, nips, and grabs as they pass by. Not every cat appreciates her antics, but she respects a rebuke and gets along with all.

Shy by nature, Smile chooses her people carefully. In her foster home, she has bonded deeply with one human, sharing her affection freely, while allowing the other to serve treats from a respectful distance. Visitors may never glimpse her, but adopters who earn her trust will discover a devoted companion who saves her love for those she feels safe with.

Smile is endlessly curious—she’s fascinated by the toilet, especially when flushable litter swirls away, and she peers over the rim to watch the show. She even watches TV, perched attentively as if following the story, adding another layer of delight to her personality. She has impeccable litter box habits, even covering her foster mate’s *misses* when the job is left unfinished.

Like many bottle babies, Smile never fully mastered bite inhibition. She uses her teeth to set limits, and while her bites are not aggressive, they can break the skin. The frequency has lessened as she matures, but adopters should be prepared for this quirk and understand it as part of her communication style. She’s less paw‑slappy than some cats, but equally spirited in her own way.

Smile thrives in a cat‑savvy home with patient adopters who appreciate her mix of regal poise and playful mischief. She will capture hearts quietly, deeply, and forever—just as she has with her foster family.

More about this rescue

Purr Partners Feline Rescue is a 501(c)(3), no-kill, foster-based, all-volunteer organization dedicated to saving the lives of cats and kittens in Central North Carolina — incorporated in 2009 by two friends, four cats, and no budget. These two women realized the need for a "cat only" rescue that worked with rural shelters — where cats routinely lose their lives. Purr Partners was founded to save the lives of those most in jeopardy with little hope of survival. High-kill rural shelters became the focus for Purr Partners, and that is still true today. From those humble beginnings, the rescue has grown to over a hundred active volunteers and a budget of approximately $175,000. At any given time there are between 100 and 150 cats and kittens in foster care. We have saved the lives of over 3500 cats and are still growing!
