My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Nebula – A Starry-Eyed Tortie with a World of Wonder

Say hello to Nebula, a 5-month-old female kitten with stunning tortoiseshell coloring that’s as unique as her personality. Like the celestial beauty she's named after, Nebula shines in her own quiet and independent way.

She’s a healthy, self-assured little lady who enjoys the company of her siblings but also values her solo time. Whether it’s curling up alone for a peaceful nap or patiently waiting to be the last one to eat, Nebula moves in an independent orbit.

Don’t be fooled by her calm demeanor—when the laser toy, paper balls, or string toys come out, Nebula transforms into a playful whirlwind! She loves racing around the house with her siblings and is always the first to investigate any new sound or movement. Curiosity is in her nature.

Though still shy with humans, Nebula is blossoming more each day. With a little patience and a lot of love, she’s sure to open up and form a deep bond with her forever family. In a calm and nurturing home, her gentle soul will truly shine.

They say you haven’t known kitty love until you’ve loved a tortie—and Nebula, with her signature tortitude and tender heart, might just be the one to prove it to you.

Are you ready to let this inter-galactic glamour girl into your heart?

Additional adoption info

Our Adoption Process

We have a clear and well-structured process in place to find the best possible homes for our animals in need. This process begins with you filling out our pre-adoption questionnaire designed to collect important details and insights from potential adopters and answer any questions you may have. Once complete, we move forward by setting up a visit for you to meet our cats in person. One of our Adoption Coordinators will provide a tour of our facility and introduce you to our available cats. Our adoption coordinators have extensive knowledge of every cat and can help answer questions about individual personalities, habits, and special needs. Should you decide to choose a specific cat during this meeting, we then schedule a home visit to deliver your new pet, ensure it’s a safe and suitable environment, and provide a care kit for the new pet. To support a smooth transition, we also make a follow-up call about a week later to see how everything is going to ensure both the adopter and the cat are settling in well together.

More about this rescue

Safe Haven for Animals was founded in late 2004 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill shelter, with the mission of providing as many cats as possible with a safe and happy home, preventing untimely endings to their lives. There is no time limit on any cat's stay, ensuring that euthanasia is a last resort reserved only for those whose health conditions are irreparable. The core purpose of the organization is clear: to save the lives of cats. The joy of the shelter comes from the adoption process, where our goal is to unite each cat with a loving family, thereby enriching both the lives of the animals and the people who welcome them.
