Meet Merry – The Brave Snuggler with a Big Appetite for Life!

Merry may have started life on the streets, but you’d never know it now! After being rescued from a garage where she and her brother Pippin were hiding out while sick, this sweet girl has blossomed in foster care into a confident, affectionate, and endlessly lovable companion.

Don’t let her gentle side fool you — Merry is a little adventurer at heart! She loves exploring her surroundings, chasing toy mice, and romping around with the other foster kittens. She takes her meals seriously and proudly holds the title of #1 Clean Plate Club Member — food is definitely the way to her heart!

Despite her rough start, Merry is incredibly affectionate. She adores pets, cuddles, and being the center of attention. If you're looking for a playful, cuddly kitten with a brave spirit and a heart full of love, Merry is ready to bring joy to your home!

Our Adoption Process

We have a clear and well-structured process in place to find the best possible homes for our animals in need. This process begins with you filling out our pre-adoption questionnaire designed to collect important details and insights from potential adopters and answer any questions you may have. Once complete, we move forward by setting up a visit for you to meet our cats in person. One of our Adoption Coordinators will provide a tour of our facility and introduce you to our available cats. Our adoption coordinators have extensive knowledge of every cat and can help answer questions about individual personalities, habits, and special needs. Should you decide to choose a specific cat during this meeting, we then schedule a home visit to deliver your new pet, ensure it’s a safe and suitable environment, and provide a care kit for the new pet. To support a smooth transition, we also make a follow-up call about a week later to see how everything is going to ensure both the adopter and the cat are settling in well together.

Safe Haven for Animals was founded in late 2004 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill shelter, with the mission of providing as many cats as possible with a safe and happy home, preventing untimely endings to their lives. There is no time limit on any cat's stay, ensuring that euthanasia is a last resort reserved only for those whose health conditions are irreparable. The core purpose of the organization is clear: to save the lives of cats. The joy of the shelter comes from the adoption process, where our goal is to unite each cat with a loving family, thereby enriching both the lives of the animals and the people who welcome them.
