My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Phil! Phil and his 2 brothers, Ken and Marty, used to live under the deck of 2 cool math teachers who brought them inside before it got too cold outside. They were lucky to stay with a wonderful foster home before they were ready to come onsite for adoption.

While at the shelter, Marty and Ken were the braver of the two brothers, and they have both since found loving homes. Phil was on the shyer side and would often find a quiet place to hide and observe from afar, only letting a select few people at the shelter in to his heart.

Phil has since gone into another foster home to give him a break from shelter life. At first he would hiss when the foster mom would come into the room, but she bought his love with a Churu and a wand toy - 2 of his favorites! Since then, he’s really shown his affectionate side and his enjoyment of receiving pets. There are two kids aged 4 and 7 in the foster home who Phil has met. Everyone gets along well, but Phil will hide when the kids start to have a little too much fun.

Before moving back into a foster home, he was in a community cat room while at Heartland. We do believe he would do well with other cats, however, he may also do well on his own with an active and playful owner. He would do best in a quiet and patient home where he is able to come out of his shell at his own pace. Once he does, you will have your very own extra loyal cuddle bug.

Phil is neutered, up-to-date on his FVRCP and Rabies vaccines and negative for FIV and FeLV.

Phil is currently staying in a lovely foster home. Please email cats@heartlandanimalshelter.org to arrange a meeting!
