Here's what the humans have to say about me:
FIV/FeLV negative, microchipped, DOB October 6, 2024
Midnight is an incredibly sweet and gentle cat. She has a beautiful face and soulful eyes. She is a very lovable and humble girl, very good-natured and quiet. She is calm, affectionate and she purrs easily.
Midnight was rescued from a cat hoarding situation where she had limited contact with people. She was moved to a Toronto Cat Rescue foster home where she warmed up fairly quickly to her temporary family. She started to allow herself to be petted and slowly began to purr. It took her a while to start playing, but she now loves interactive toys such as the chirping bird on a wand.
Midnight is slowly coming out of her shell but she is still a bit fearful and retreats at the first sign of what she thinks is trouble! This will resolve over time once she feels secure in her adoptive home.
Occasionally when she is being petted she will try to grab your hand for more affection so her foster parent recommends she goes to a home with no children. She is also not a fan of being picked up and can get quite squirmy.
Midnight can be adopted on her own or into a home where there is a friendly cat from whom she can learn (though because of her history she can also be intimidated by other cats, so no more than one other cat in her forever home is best).
Her adopters should engage with her throughout the day with treats and playtime in order to continue her socialization journey, but still also give her some space to figure things out on her own.
She has a lot of love to give once she finds her comfort zone, she just needs a bit of time!
