He just yearns for love....that's our Toby!
This handsome boy is Toby and he is an approximately 3 year old, 15lb, male, Chihuahua/Doxy mix (chiweenie) that is all about cuddles and love! He came to us when he was found dumped on the streets abandoned and all alone with bite wounds all over his body and an ulcerated eye. We had him taken straight to our vet where he was treated and then he was off to a his wonderful foster home! We see that Toby needs a very patient, loving, and nurturing home that will give him the time he needs to decompress and feel safe. He is leery of some men and most likely was hurt by one. We know from experience that he will come to you very scared and will do low growling. Humans failed him in his past and he is untrusting at first understandably. It took his foster mom 2 days before he felt safe with her and her family, but once he knew everything was ok....he was all about the love! In fact, he LOVES to snuggle! Toby definitely needs another young and playful dog in the home! He is AMAZING with other dogs and seems to love them all! This playful pup definitely needs a safe and secure backyard to run around and play in. Toby was most likely mistreated by men in his life as he is a little stand offish with them, but will open up with time. Potential adopters must be prepared that he is going to being shut down at meet/greets, but trust us when we tell you it only takes like 2 days for him to feel safe and loved, so we are looking for a home for him that will not give up quickly on him and give him that time he needs....
It will definitely be worth while!
Toby is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
We only adopt in the Greater Los Angeles Areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required.

THE FORGOTTEN DOG FOUNDATION rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes shelter, stray, abused and abandoned dogs. Our goal is to place our rescues in foster homes rather than in boarding facilities. After temperament assessment, needed veterinary services, and lots of attention and socialization we carefully screen and place these dogs in loving forever homes.
