My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cairo
? Good morning from Cairo! ?

This 2-year-old neutered pitbull is 80 lbs of pure sweetness and love. ? He will need to shed a few pounds, but it’s for his own good! He will try to climb into your lap for snuggles! ?

Cairo is a jumpy boy who just wants to be loved on constantly. He leans in hard for pets, gives a million kisses, and is the definition of a cuddle bug. He’s submissive, often rolling on his back (sometimes even peeing a little) just to show how much he trusts you. And belly rubs? He lives for them! ?

This strong kid did well with other dogs, didn’t mind cats, and we believe he’d be great with kids too. Cairo is truly the sweetest soul and is ready for a family who will give him all the love he craves. ??

More about this shelter

The Gloucester County Animal Shelter functions as an impoundment/adoption facility which temporarily houses lost, stray, unwanted or abandoned pets for the 24 municipalities in Gloucester County, until such time as they are reclaimed by their owner or adopted by a new family. The Shelter also provides a 24-hour emergency service for calls regarding animals that are sick, injured or posing an immediate threat to the public.

We have a very dedicated staff and volunteer core who work very hard to see that these homeless pets are given a second chance and placed in a proper homes. All animals are spayed/neutered at the time of their adoption and up to date on their age appropriate vaccinations, Heartworm tested (for dogs) or feline combination tested (for cats) and microchipped.
