Here's what the humans have to say about me:
🐾 Junior – Big Ears, Bigger Heart 💛
Junior wasn’t born lucky—but he’s hoping his luck is about to change. This floppy-eared sweetheart was just a tiny pup when he was dumped in an alley and somehow found his way to our front yard in Dallas, TX. Dirty, thirsty, and exhausted, he looked up at us with those giant radar ears like he already knew he’d found safety. All he wanted was a nap, a bowl of water, and someone to love him. From day one, he gave that love right back—grateful, loyal, and full of puppy heart.
And then… he grew.
And grew.
And kept growing.
Junior is now about 55 pounds of pure love and goofy muscle. He’s playful, eager to please, and has mastered the art of sprinting to you the second you call his name (those satellite-dish ears hear everything). He's a shadow dog—in the sweetest way—always following close behind with those “what are we doing next?” eyes.
Some of our favorite Junior moments:
The time he turned baby powder into a winter wonderland across the house.
How he nestles his whole head into your lap like he’s still a tiny baby.
He’s silly, smart, and truly wants to be someone’s best friend forever. Junior can sit, we are working on not jumping, and he is crate trained and potty trained. He needs a home that can match his size with time, structure, and lots of love.
🦴 Breed: Big-eared mix of mystery
📍 Location: Dallas, TX (near White Rock Lake)
⚖️ Weight: ~55 lbs
🎂 Age: Young adult
🐶 Temperament: Sweet, loyal, powerful goofball
👪 Needs: A loving human who can handle his size and shower him with time and care
Junior’s not just a dog. He’s a comeback story with a tail. 💛
Junior is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Adopting from The Love Pit means gaining a family member. It means gaining a network of pit bull advocates, ready to support you and provide you with all of the resources we can. Most importantly, adopting from The Love Pit saves lives. When you adopt, you're saving the life of your own dog, opening space in their foster home for another shelter dog in need, and creating space in the shelter kennel for a dog whose life would have otherwise been on the line. Your thanks for all the good you've done? Lots of love and pit bull kisses to enjoy for years to come.
