My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Who knew when we first met Buick Audra, a frightened lady abandoned to our care, that she’d transform into a serene lap cat?! We’ll never know what she endured to get to this place of comfort, but her fierce determination to understand a new trust between her and humans has been an uplifting, empowering experience for all involved. Where she was once suspicious of hands, she now craves them for the neck rubs they provide. Although she still doesn’t care for other cats, Buick has become quite chipper to see her favorite people pop in for visits. Cat nip has provided her a kind of thrill that may have been missing her whole life. Buick has weathered a few health crises in her time with us, most recenlty dealing with dermatological issues due to allergies which our vets have successfully treated through diet to provide her optimum health. Her special diet and care for this condition will be covered at cost through our Pet Health Centers to make keeping her comfortable care free for her new family. A loving, patient and experienced one with older children can take over the nurturing and lead her to homebound-happiness. That worst day long ago may prove to be the beginning of her best life because it will have led her to the home she’s always deserved.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

When you come down to NSALA an associate will help you figure out what kind of animal will do best in your situation. At that point they will take out the animals you are interested in so that you may get to know them. You will have plenty of time to play and interact with your new friend in our family friendly areas designated for that purpose. When you decide you want to adopt, an associate will help you fill out an application.

Our adoption fees are as follows:
Puppies (up to 6 months) $350
Adult Dogs (over 6 months) $100
Puppy Mill Rescues $250
Small Breed & Pure Breeds (over 6 months) $250
Kittens (up to 6 months) $100
