Blue is a beautiful 9-month old female (possible) Labrador Retriever/ Pit Bull Terrier mix who was brought to the HSOV by the Washington County Ohio Dog Warden on August 4, 2025 with a safekeeping hold (which was released early in September 2025).
Blue has a chocolate brown coat with a large white bib on her chest, a long brown tail with a white tip on the end, and a gorgeous face with dark amber eyes, a liver-colored nose, a long slender muzzle, and short floppy ears.
Blue was a frightened young lady when she first entered our shelter and couldn't understand why she was initially sitting in a large floor crate with so many other dogs nearby (and who could blame her). Fortunately a large kennel became available soon after her arrival where she would have more freedom/space in a large kennel.
Blue weighed 57 lbs on August 4th and is still a growing girl.
These photos of Blue were taken on September 28, 2025 when HSOV Lead Canine Kennel Tech Emily Beaver accompanied her for outdoor glamour photos. Blue was a 'good girl' for Emily and posed nicely for pictures and 'sat pretty' when Emily asked her to do so.
Blue was spayed on October 3, 2025 and was also given rabies vaccine .. So she is ready to begin interviewing potential adopters and choose her new family. Blue could also be fostered-to-adopt with an approved HSOV foster/adoption application.
