DENISE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Denise Best Guess for Breed: Lab and retriever mix
Best Guess for Age: 10 months as of December 2025 SEX: female
Approximate Weight: 32.6 lbs as of 12/7/25 - she might have just a little more to grow
Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!
Special adoption considerations: Because Denise is shy, she needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog who will show her the ropes.
Currently Living at: DC area foster home
Denise is Looking For: Her forever home! Denise is just out of the puppy phase and ready to be the cutest teenage doggo ever! Denise is eagerly looking forward to having her own humans for sniffy walks and all the adventures they can dream up. And dog school so she can show how super smart she is. And then pets and cuddles and belly scritches at the end of a fun day together.
Most of all, though, she wants to know she is safe and loved. In exchange she promises all the adoring gazes and happy tail wags she can store up, and loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Is Denise the one you see by your side?
What My Foster Says About Me: 'Denise is the cutest little piglet. Although she is shy, she has been so brave and every day she’s growing more and more confident. She’s started cuddling with her humans and licking our hands. She LOVES other dogs, has an adorable play style, initiating and participating in play with our resident dog gently and respectfully. She is quiet in her crate and is a fabulous house guest. Adopt this nugget and she will be your best friend!'
