My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What my friends at ACC say about me:

My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!

I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me.

I love to be loved, but on my own terms! Let's brush up on some canine body language together!

I'm ready to learn! I need a patient person who has the time to work on training with me.

Not only do I pull at heart strings, but I also pull on leash! I will need someone to help me with my leash manners.

I would do best in a home with only adult humans.

A volunteer writes: Benny really has a hold on me! He melts my heart when I pass his kennel - standing up, with his paws spread up against the door, his big, adorable face looking out, hoping for an extra walk. His favorite thing is going on long, slow sniff-walks. With great curiosity and focus, he stops at every tree and trash bag, his nose excitedly taking in all the interesting information left by other dogs, people, and various other critters. I offer pets to Benny, but his preference is to get in as much sniffing as he can with the limited time he has outside. He looks up at me when I call his name and is always happy to slurp up treats from my hand...then it's back to the scent trail. He also seems to be housebroken and used to pull hard on the leash but has been so much easier to walk since he was given a harness. When Benny sees other dogs on the street, he pulls toward them with a waggy tail and softly whines. Benny has such a cute personality and is such a sweet boy that he's sure to capture your heart just as he did mine.
