Come meet Sweets and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (Dec. 14th) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Kensington (5154 Nicholson Ln, Kensington, MD 20895)!
Name: Sweets Best Guess for Breed: Husky and whippet mix
Best Guess for Age: 2 years as of September 2025 SEX: Male
Approximate Weight: 38 lbs
Gets Along With: Sweets is good with other dogs and has lived with cats. We haven't seen him with kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Because Sweets is shy, he needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog who will show him the ropes.

Sweets is Looking For: His forever home with another dog! This great pup is friendly, loving, and social with people and pups alike! He was in foster care in Texas for a while and his foster said he interacted with dogs and cats and did very well with both - he was quite happy when animals of both species were around. She also said he's good on leash, loves walks, and is good in the car.
In the shelter, he's been dog friendly and loves playing with other dogs. Yeah all that is great but you know what he wants most of all? To have his own humans, to be safe and loved, to know where he belongs. He promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say? Is he the one for your heart and your home?
What My DC Area Foster Says About Me: Sweets is as sweet as they get. He is very loyal and loving. A bit shy but with love, he has been quick to learn to trust that all loud noises are not scary. He is great with dogs and really enjoys their company, in fact the dog park is one of his favorite places! He is also good with cats and children. He knows recall very well and is very smart so any other tricks you want to teach him, won’t be hard to do. He doesn’t bark much but his presence is definitely known by his sweet personality and his beautiful, piercing, blue eyes.
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
