Dan came to us injured after being hit by a car! He had severe injuries to his back legs. His right one had a complicated tib/fib fracture and ended up needing to be amputated. His left leg had a deep wound with bone exposed, but thanks to time, treatment, and Dan`s incredible resilience and happy spirit, he`s healed up well!
Today, Dan is thriving. Losing a leg sure hasn’t slowed him down at all. He`s a happy go lucky boy with a puppy`s playful spirit. He`s great on a leash, loves attention, and greets everyone with his signature full body wag. He`s a certified wiggle butt!
Dan is all joy in our play yards. He enjoys running, exploring, and amusing himself with sniffing adventures. He’s energetic, playful, and still has plenty of puppy spirit left in him. When you`re petting him he sits as calmly and closely to you as possible, and happily settles in for your love.

We are an open admission, municipal shelter serving the unincorporated area of Fort Bend County, TX.
We are the county's rabies control authority as well as being their animal shelter. On average, we take in approximately 4,000-5,000 pets per year.
The staff at FBCAS is small but each and every one of us is dedicated to making the stay of the pets in our care as comfortable as possible. Our hearts are in this and with every pet that crosses our threshold.
We are part of the amazing Fort Bend County community and we are always striving to work with our community people and partners to make our shelter the best it can be.
We can always use new volunteers to help us keep our pets happy and healthy while they wait for their forever home.
