My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dale is an Australian Shepherd who can be fearful, especially around men, and benefits from patient, confidence-building support. He may guard food and treats from other dogs, so thoughtful management around resources will be important. Dale will thrive in a calm home that uses positive-reinforcement training and allows him to build trust at his own pace. With consistency and understanding, he has the potential to become a loyal and deeply devoted companion. Dale`s adoption comes with a complimentary session with a member of HSPPR`s behavior team.

More about this shelter

We provide compassionate care for nearly 5,000 animals each year. Most of the animals that come to our shelter are either pets relinquished by their owners or stray pets found wandering in the areas we serve. Dogs and cats are the most common, although a wide variety of other animals may be found at the shelter as well, including birds, snakes, fish, hamsters and guinea pigs.
