My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

To adopt please fill out an adoption application.

Scooter is an 18 month old female Rottweiler mix who was surrendered when her owner died in Memphis. Sweet and gentle, but somewhat shy and tentative with new people and situations. Great with other dogs and would enjoy a dog buddy in her new home. Not cat tested. Has never lived with children, although she’d likely be fine with older dog-savvy children. Housebroken but never crated because she doesn’t need to be. High energy level outside, settles down quickly in the house. Low maintenance, good house manners. Good on a leash, rides great in the car. Loves to be with her people. DOB is April 2024. Scooter has entropian Right Eye but it doesn’t seem to bother her much. Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, spayed, weighs about 80 pounds.  Sweet young rottie mix will make a wonderful companion (and jogging partner!) for an active family who loves the breed.

All our Good Dogs are in southern foster homes.

More about this rescue

Good Dog Rescue is an all-breed rescue group headquartered in the South. Our group is comprised of volunteers all over the Southeast who love dogs and want to help those that end up homeless through no fault of their own. Loyal and loving dogs turn up every day in Southern shelters, as owners turn them in or they’re found roaming the streets after being dumped. To the best of our abilities, we evaluate all of our Good Dogs’ temperament and suitability for living with other dogs, cats, and children. A dog’s health is checked, and we make sure they are up-to-date on all shots and are spayed or neutered. Then, we place them in loving foster homes until they find their very own family. Our goal is to meet the needs of each dog as an individual and to assure proper placement in a loving forever home.
