Janey and her kitten Frodo were found eating scraps in a restaurant parking lot — Janey was just a baby herself when she gave birth. She was rescued first, but Frodo remained missing for more than a week. When they were finally reunited, they celebrated with happy mews, cuddles, and relief. I promised them right then: they would never be separated again. Now, this inseparable duo is wishing for a cozy forever home together this holiday season.

Friends of Rescue is headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama with transport locations throughout the Great Lakes and New England. FOR is a volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2009.
Our mission is to save adoptable dogs and cats from overcrowded Southern shelters where limited space, minimal funding, and high intake rates often lead to euthanasia.
We are not professional trainers or animal behaviorists—just dedicated individuals working together to give these animals a second chance. Every pet in our program lives in a loving foster home and receives age-appropriate veterinary care while awaiting adoption.
