My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How Filmore arrived:
Filmore was brought in by a community member on October 4, 2025.

Why Filmore is the one for you:
Meet Filmore! Filmore is a playful, curious rabbit with a sweet personality and lots of energy. He is bonded with his buddy Harrison (ID 547861) and came in with siblings Truman (ID 547860) and Eisenhower (ID 547863). Filmore (ID 547862) and Harrison share a special bond, often snuggling, chasing each other, and exploring together, while still showing plenty of independence. Filmore has coexisted with children and a French Bulldog. He is litterbox trained and enjoys chewing on straw mats or Timothy hay balls. While he prefers not to be picked up, Filmore is very comfortable being pet and handled, especially when offered some tasty greens. He loves to explore his surroundings, hop onto carts or laps during playtime, and show off energetic zoomies, including adorable binkies. Filmore also has calm moments, often flopping on his side after bursts of play, showing how relaxed he can be once comfortable. Filmore thrives in a home that can offer him plenty of space, enrichment, and social interaction. He enjoys a variety of fruits and veggies, including lettuce, apples, and bananas, and responds wonderfully to gentle attention and patience. With his playful personality and lively spirit, Filmore is sure to bring joy and fun to his family.

At SDHS:
Filmore has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. He is now ready for his new home!

RHDV2 Vaccine: Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV2) is a highly contagious disease that can affect rabbits. Due to its presence in San Diego County, all rabbits will receive a mandatory RHDV2 vaccine before adoption. Guests will be charged $14 for this vaccine upon adoption.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
