Personality Snapshot: Playful, loving, cuddly, energetic, smart, a bit pushy
Willie is a goofy, playful puppy who gets excited about anything and everything he can be a part of. He is a happy boy who loves pets and cuddles from everyone and would truly like to be a lap dog. He is smart, eager to please, and took to training right away, even without treats.
Willie loves other dogs and has a blast playing with them. He can be a bit pushy in his play style, which can bother some dogs, but he never seemed bothered and simply needs more socialization to help him learn boundaries. He could definitely live with other dogs and seems very adjustable overall. He has not been tested with cats.
When left alone, Willie may whine or bark briefly before settling. Some of his extra energy and restlessness is likely due to shelter stress and his age. He sometimes struggles to settle down when it is time to rest, but giving him a chew treat helped him relax. He comes across as an over-active puppy who will benefit from consistent routine and outlets for his energy.
On leash, Willie did amazing. He showed no reactivity except when very close to dogs playing in the yard, and even then it was just excitement. He was easy to redirect and handled distractions well. He also tolerated handling wonderfully and enjoyed all the attention.
Ideal Home:
Just about any home. Willie is loving, playful, and very people oriented. With a bit of guidance on settling and continued socialization, he will be a wonderful companion. Willie was a pleasure to spend time with and is ready to bring joy, fun, and a whole lot of cuddles to his new family.
