My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🌸 Meet Ginger — the sweetest little survivor! 🌸

Ginger is an estimated 2-3 year-old deer head Chihuahua with a heart full of love and a gentle spirit. She was found on the coldest day of February 2025 — left in a cardboard box with two other dogs while pregnant. Despite such a rough start, Ginger has blossomed into a loving, affectionate girl who’s ready to know what a safe, warm home truly feels like.

This dainty little lady can be timid at first, but once she feels comfortable, her affectionate side shines through. She adores giving her dog friends kisses and happily submits to them during playtime. Ginger loves her toys (and sometimes thinks anything you set down is a new toy for her!) and enjoys quiet moments chewing or relaxing nearby.

She has a moderate energy level — just enough pep for playtime, followed by a good cuddle. While she does okay with gentle children, she seems to be most relaxed and confident in a calm adult home.

Ginger is a loving soul who’s been through a lot, and she’s ready to find a foster (or forever) family who will show her the safety, patience, and love she’s always deserved.

Ginger is spayed, up to date on shots and microchipped.

Adoption fee is: $400

More about this rescue

CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death. We provide shots, spay/neuter, microchip, foster homes, food, medical treatment and love to dogs that are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. In addition to caring for our dogs and finding the best possible home for them, we provide education to the community; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership. If needed, our rescue dogs are retrained to socialize in an adoptive loving family. We have had phenomenal success, and amazing support from our community. We believe that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for them. We are partnered with many Shelters to help them reach the same goal.
