My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Pantera
Pantera is our young black and white Akita mix! She came to HAP with her three sisters when their owner could no longer take care of them and she's settled in without any problems and made herself right at home. The biggest thing to know about Pantera is that she's a hugger! Part of it is she's still a puppy and learning her manners but besides that, she truly just wants to be in your arms and for her size, that means a hug! She's a very social girl and has made friends with any human or pup she's come across. Due to her size and her 'hugging' it can be a little much for younger kids but with a little training, she's already getting better at keeping her paws on the floor. Pantera is really just a big teddy bear and wants to get any and all affection that someone's willing to offer. She also loves her toys and will get the zoomies when she finds the perfect one - it's hilarious! She's also made plenty of friends at the shelter so would be a great addition if there's current dogs in the home. So if you're looking for an affectionate, big teddy bear of a pup, Pantera is the one for you!

Pantera is spending the holiday in a foster! Please contact the Rehoboth Beach location at (302)200-7159 for more information.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
