URGENT- FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED FOR MEGAN: Her current adopter has given one week’s notice and plans to take her to the humane society if placement is not found.
About Megan
Megan arrived in Wisconsin on our transport from Georgia in October and is currently looking for a new home since being adopted in fall. She is an energetic, playful, and affectionate dog who is ready to find her forever home.
Megan is approximately 1 year old and came from a Georgia kill shelter and was found as a stray before that. She was adopted but is being returned because she is simply too much dog for her older adopters. Despite this transition, Megan remains a smart, loving, and eager-to-learn young dog with a lot of potential. She is a black Lab mix and weighs approximately 50 pounds.
Since being in an only-dog home, Megan has lost some confidence when meeting new people and other dogs, especially strangers coming into the home. She was not like this previously, and we think she would do well in a home with another dog and/or an adopter who knows how to help her feel more comfortable.
Megan really likes other dogs and loves to play, though she is a strong and enthusiastic player. She loves treats and is eager to learn. She also loves to play fetch and be outside. She would be a great adventure partner.
Like many dogs her age, Megan is still working on some of the basics. She is potty trained and crate trained and continues to work on her leash manners. One of our dedicated volunteers held a fundraiser to cover professional training for Megan and set her on the right track again. We want to set her up for success and give her a solid foundation to build on. With continued structure, socialization, and activity,
Megan will make a wonderful companion.
Megan would do best in an active home with someone willing to continue her training, work on socialization, and take her on regular walks or hikes.
