Meet Truffle Shuffle A562492, the shy little gentleman who is slowly discovering that the world is not nearly as scary as it once seemed. Thanks to a wonderful volunteer, he spent a big day out at the Huntsville Botanical Garden, and it turned into the kind of outing that makes your heart grow three sizes.
He started the adventure feeling a little unsure, but he tried his best, and that bravery paid off. First win of the day was proving he is a rockstar car rider. He hesitated at the door, got a little pep talk, then climbed in and settled like a pro. By the second and third stop he was hopping in with growing confidence, proud as could be.
His next mission was Pup Cup Connoisseur. Olde Towne Coffee delivered the goods, and Truffle Shuffle handled his pup cup like a seasoned food critic. Ten out of ten. Would absolutely eat again.
Once they arrived at the gardens, he turned into Super Explorer. He loved sniffing every path and checking out every new scent. He pulls a tiny bit when something catches his interest, but he is very easy to guide. The whole place was a wonderland to him and he even found his lookalike in the Christmas Cards display which felt a little magical.
Truffle Shuffle is shy around new people, but he is the good kind of shy. The kind that watches first, thinks it over, and then steps forward for gentle pets when he decides someone seems kind. He met several staff members at the garden, tail wagging softly once he realized they were friends, not foes.
By the end of the trip, this boy was offering kisses, leaning in for affection, and even rolling over for belly rubs, which is basically the Truffle Shuffle seal of trust.
He is sweet, sensitive, thoughtful, and trying so hard to be brave. All he needs is a patient home that will give him the time to ease into new things and celebrate each new milestone. If you are looking for a gentle companion who blossoms beautifully once he feels safe, Truffle Shuffle is ready to meet you.
Truffle is guesstimated to be almost 2 years years old and weighs 52 lbs. All dogs adopted from Huntsville Animal Services are spayed/ neutered, microchipped, dewormed, appropriately vaccinated, and receive a topical 90-day flea/ tick preventative.
Ready to meet Truffle? All you have to do is stop by our shelter at 4950 Triana Blvd and head to our dog areas. You can find him in kennel D52. All adopters must be 19 years or older with a valid ID

When you adopt a pet, it will stay at the shelter and be taken to the veterinarian of your choice where it will be spayed or neutered before going to its new home. If it is already spayed or neutered, it can go home with you upon adoption. My adoption cost is very affordable and includes my adoption fee, spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming, license (if you live within Huntsville city limits), and microchip.
