Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Angus has known the quiet kind of hardship — the kind no dog should ever have to understand.
He came to us from a place that simply didn’t have the room or resources to help him, and by the time he arrived, he was tired, unsure, and fighting an infection on his own. But even then, even with his world turned upside down, he never once stopped trying. He fought. He healed. And he won.
What’s most remarkable is that through everything, Angus never lost the sweetness in his eyes. He’s gentle in a way that feels like gratitude — like he knows life is finally giving him a chance. He’s still shy sometimes, still cautious, but every day he gathers just a little more courage. He watches the other dogs play, and lately, he’s been joining in — tiny steps, quiet moments, little victories that mean everything.
And somewhere along the way, without even trying, he became a staff and volunteer favorite. Maybe it’s the way he leans in softly when he trusts you. Maybe it’s the way he looks at you like you’re the first person who’s ever made him feel safe. Maybe it’s simply that once you meet him, it’s impossible not to root for him.
Angus doesn’t ask for much — just kindness, patience, and a place where he doesn’t have to be afraid anymore. A home where someone will celebrate the small steps, where a gentle dog can finally learn what it feels like to belong.
After everything he’s survived, Angus isn’t looking for a hero.
He’s just hoping for someone to choose him.
