Health issues: Environmental allergies that affect paws/skin. He takes low dose of prednisone (~2mg) each day to help manage swollen paws. We also clean paws daily with diluted chlorhexidine and 'mud buster' cleaner. When flare ups are bad we get a prescription of Keflex from the veterinarian. He may respond well to allergy immunotherapy but we have not tried that yet.
Rocko is a big-hearted, 5-year-old American Bulldog who’s as sweet as he is strong. He’s fully house-trained, neutered, and loves spending time with people of all ages. Despite his impressive size, Rocko is a total gentle giant—affectionate, calm, and very aware of his strength.
He enjoys a moderate amount of exercise—one good walk a day keeps him happy and healthy. Rocko knows his basic commands (“sit,” “stay,” “come,” “wait,” and “go”) but, like most bulldogs, he can be a little stubborn at times. He’s up to date on vaccines and is microchipped.
Rocko does have mild environmental allergies that cause occasional paw irritation. To keep him comfortable, he takes a low daily dose of prednisone. This routine has worked well to manage his symptoms.
When outside, Rocko should remain on-leash—he’s generally good about staying nearby, but his recall isn’t reliable once he’s distracted. He’s non-aggressive and has done well around other dogs, though he can sometimes be reactive toward large male dogs.
If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who thrives on love and routine, Rocko might be your perfect match!
