My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bonjour!!! Part of our M pup litter, Monsieur is the smallest of his brothers but has a personality that stands out! Ready to sniff and play, Monsieur is proving to be a fun and energetic little pup! This
hound mix weighs about 20 lbs now with lots of room to grow. While coming out of his shell, this sweet little boy is showing us that he has the confidence to play with those bigger than him and can get along with most dogs. Have a furry friend at home? That might be the key for this boy to gain the love and trust he needs. Ready for a snuggle buddy? Come and meet Monsieur today! He's ready to steal your heart!
**Hiking feedback: "Monsieur was a sweet baby! He was excited to start walking once we got on the trail. He sat by my feet, waiting patiently for affection during breaks. He was very gentle and playful with the other dogs".

Weekend Host Feedback: "Monsieur is a delight. It was such a pleasure to watch him blossom over the weekend and become more self-confident. Shy at first, but SO eager to please, he went from hiding under the coffee table to getting on the lap of anyone who would allow it. I took him on a walk to the Village District shopping center on Sunday and he let everyone pet him. Excellent with men, women, kids and other dogs. Walks well on a leash. Walked willingly during the day, but seemed hesitant at night when it was dark. Excellent behavior in the car—he just sat there and enjoyed the scenery. He will do his business very quickly once you take him out, but wasn’t good at communicating a need to go outside, so there were two accidents. My fault.

We worked on “sit” and “come” this weekend and he got pretty good at both. He’s smart. Very food motivated. LOVES squeaky toys—sleeping with them, fetching them. Loves a really good chew toy. He's a pupy so chewing is his thing. No problem getting him to go to his crate at night—in fact, he voluntarily enters it to sleep or chill. Very gentle, very quiet—almost never barked. All in all, it broke my heart to have to bring him back—he’s going to make some family very happy."

Additional adoption info

All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their vaccines, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350.00. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member.

If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please complete an Adoption Application at our website: savinggracenc.org

Sending an Application does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. Please review our Adoption Contract before sending an Application to ensure that you will be able to provide the requirements stated in the contract. The Contract must be signed at the time of adoption.

Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.

More about this rescue

Located in central North Carolina and officially established in 2004, Saving Grace has placed over 15,000 dogs into homes since its inception. These dogs were from rural animal control facilities with little resources and who would otherwise not had the opportunity to receive necessary veterinary care and a chance at adoption. While we have grown significantly over the years and have been successful growing our numbers we still see many great dogs miss the opportunity of adoption.

We have a large variety of dogs varying in breed, size, shape, age and needs and would love to work with you to find you a great dog companion while providing a dog in need with a loving home. Our dogs are chosen based on temperament and socialization. We get some of the most charming, unique mix breeds as well as some striking purebreds. Our dogs come from rural, underserved areas and while they may have little experience as an indoor family member, they have the temperament and personality that is sure to bring much love and appreciation to their new home. Most have started their crate training while in our program. Veterinary care including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test, vaccinations, monthly preventatives are provided prior to each adoption. If you would like more information about adopting one of our dogs, please email savinggrace@savinggracenc.org
