Sparrow is a cute one-year old female Puggle (Pug/Beagle mix) who was brought to the HSOV on September 18th 2025 by the Washington County Ohio Dog Warden along with her two companions Hook and Morgan). These little ‘Pirates of the Caribbean” were kept safe for the mandatory 14-day hold since their owner had been identified. They have now been surrendered and will soon be ready to find new homes of their very own.
Sparrow has a tan coat, a long tail, and an adorable wrinkled face with brown eyes which appear to be enhanced with black eyeliner, a dusting of white on her muzzle, and extra-large floppy ears.
These photos of Sparrow were taken on October 11, 2025 when HSOV Volunteer Miley Kiggans accompanied her for outdoor glamour photos. Sparrow has the sweet, outgoing personality disposition and loves attention.
Sparrow weighs 29 lbs and walks fairly well on a leash.
Sparrow will be spayed before being officially adopted (a requirement for HSOV adoptions to be finalized). She could be fostered-to-adopt while awaiting her spay procedure with an approved HSOV foster/adoption application.
Sparrow, Hook and Morgan are enjoying a spacious 'apartment' together (i.e., the shelter breakroom) so that they didn't have to be separated into small floor crates.
Morgan might possibly be Sparrow and Hook's mother, but that hasn't been confirmed
Each of these beautiful dogs are friendly and love attention. These good little pirates are quite social and only steal people's hearts .. not their worldly possessions.
Update: Sparrow was spayed on October 27, 2025 and was also given rabies vaccine.
Hook was adopted on November 5, 2025.
Note: Sparrow and Morgan are being listed as a bonded pair since we feel that it is in their best interest to be adopted together.
