Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Kawai - the sweetest “alpha” you’ll ever have the chance to adopt!
Don’t let his confident, lion-like looks fool you - Kawai is one of the gentlest, most affectionate cats you’ll ever come across. At around 4 years old, he’s the perfect mix of playful energy and loving companionship.
Kawai makes friends instantly and isn’t shy about asking for pets and attention. He loves to snuggle close, often curling up on your pillow and purring through the night. But when playtime begins, he turns into a champion hunter - no wand toy stands a chance against his impressive leaps and quick paws!
Like any curious orange cat, Kawai enjoys exploring and sometimes testing boundaries. He may hop up on a counter or turn everyday items into toys, but a bit of gentle guidance and playtime easily keep him happy and well-behaved.
He’s also a total foodie who never misses a meal - and he’ll make sure you don’t either! Expect adorable breakfast reminders and lots of enthusiasm for snack time.
Kawai is social, cuddly, and full of character - a wonderful companion for anyone who wants both affection and a little fun-loving mischief in their life.
Funny quirks: Kawai is mesmerized by rustling of paper - whether bags or packaging materials. When he gets the zoomies he runs into them and likes to slide across the room. He is not impressed by boxes though.
He also has the funniest way of hydrating - he faceplants into his bowl and you'll hear his loud gulps for minutes. Then he runs right to you to cuddle with his little wet face.
History or where rescued from: He is a Quebecois gentleman who (to my knowledge) was surrendered by the previous owner.
Kawai has tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). FIV+ cats can live long happy lives with a good diet, low stress, indoor homes, loving families, and annual vet check-ins. They don't require medication and can live in a home with other non-FIV+ cats, as the virus is only passed to other cats by blood (i.e. deep bite marks) and can't be passed to dogs or humans. Please don't judge them based on a blood test!
