Sweet Sally...this girl needs a "break". She was adopted and in a home with a small dog, a hooman mom, and a hooman sister for a YEAR! She was a good girl and caused no problems. THEN...her hooman got a man hooman and he said she had to go. (Personally, he wouldn't have gotten a foot in my door :) ). Now Sally has been back with us a long time. She plays with her buddy Tex and actually has her own "room" at the shelter. She loves everyone and with a proper introduction can go with any dogs to play. She has no known health issues and would be the perfect dog in a home. Come meet our girl!

More about this rescue

HAA is a group of volunteers moving dogs from the Hardeman County animal control kill facility. We place them in a shelter that is located in the county landfill, but operated by the HAA volunteers. The dogs are then evaluated, cared for by a veterinarian if necessary, and placed on our list of available, adoptable dogs. All dogs taken in are strays, owner surrenders or breeder throwaways. HAA protects the dogs from euthanasia, adopt them out to appropriate homes or deliver them to rescue groups who can place them. Very seldom do we know the history of the dogs.

The county has agreed to let volunteers run the shelter within limits. They will let us care for the dogs and try to get them adopted out. Our job is to keep the shelter from getting full. Once it is full then dogs will be put down. We are always in need of people to help care for the dogs. We also need supplies and money for medical attention.

We are a 501(c)(3) organization, and contributions are tax deductible. We have an account set up at the local vet for anyone wishing to help with medical funds: Old Hatchie Veterinary Clinic, 1017 N.
