Meet Trax — a handsome, happy-go-lucky guy who was found on October 1st and is now looking for a family to call his own.
Trax is a vocal, playful, and eager-to-please young dog with plenty of personality. At around 1–2 years old, he’s the perfect mix of energy and curiosity — still young enough to be silly and fun, but old enough to start focusing and learning.
He loves to play, explore, and be part of whatever’s going on. Trax thrives on attention and would make a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys walks, playtime, and having a dog who’s always up for an adventure.

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

We prefer to schedule appointments for meet-and-greets to ensure that staff or volunteers are available to spend adequate time helping you/

Meet the Pet

For safety reasons, please do not reach into kennels or attempt to touch animals through barriers. If you’re interested in a particular pet.

3.
Submit Application

After your visit, you’re welcome to submit an adoption application.

4.
Approve Application

After the application is submitted, we will review it and contact you if your application is chosen.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Once your application is approved, we will contact you to finalize the adoption process!

All that is needed for the adoption application is a

We are located at 1600 Johnson Road in Petersburg, Virginia.
Our hours of operation are Monday - Friday 10am till 3pm.
We are closed Saturdays and Sundays (as well as holidays) but are available by appointment outside of our open hours.
