Forrest is a beautiful 1-year-old pit mix who was found on November 22nd and is now hoping for a chance to feel safe again. He weighs around 45 pounds — a perfect medium size — with the softest velvet ears and an expression that could melt anyone’s heart.

Right now, Forrest is terrified in the shelter environment. The noise, the unfamiliar smells, the constant activity — it’s all overwhelming for a sensitive young dog who clearly hasn’t had much stability in his life. But even through his fear, his sweetness shines. He takes treats gently, watches people with cautious hope, and shows every sign of wanting connection once he’s in a calmer, quieter space.

Forrest isn’t a dog who’s going to rush into your arms on day one, but he is a dog who will bond deeply with someone patient, gentle, and willing to let him blossom at his own pace. In a safe home, with routine and reassurance, this timid boy will absolutely come out of his shell.
