Meet Forrest – A Sweet, Playful Boy Ready for His Fresh Start
Forrest is a handsome 1-year-old pit mix who was found on November 22nd and is now ready for a loving home. At around 45 pounds, he’s a perfect medium size, with velvety soft ears and an expression that wins people over instantly.
Now that Forrest has had some time to settle in, his personality is really shining. He’s affectionate, playful, and eager for attention, happily seeking out pets and enjoying time with his people. He takes treats gently, already knows “sit,” and is excited to keep learning with positive reinforcement.
Forrest enjoys interaction and companionship and is showing himself to be a friendly, people-oriented young dog. With a consistent routine and normal guidance for a dog his age, he’ll continue to grow into a wonderful companion.

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

We prefer to schedule appointments for meet-and-greets to ensure that staff or volunteers are available to spend adequate time helping you/

Meet the Pet

For safety reasons, please do not reach into kennels or attempt to touch animals through barriers. If you’re interested in a particular pet.

3.
Submit Application

After your visit, you’re welcome to submit an adoption application.

4.
Approve Application

After the application is submitted, we will review it and contact you if your application is chosen.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Once your application is approved, we will contact you to finalize the adoption process!

All that is needed for the adoption application is a

We are located at 1600 Johnson Road in Petersburg, Virginia.
Our hours of operation are Monday - Friday 10am till 3pm.
We are closed Saturdays and Sundays (as well as holidays) but are available by appointment outside of our open hours.
