Cordelia and her companion Damien were found dumped with several other adult dogs all looking like they'd come from the same litter. Although the pups were fearful, rescuers were able to wrangle most of the group.
At around 35 lbs with wispy, wirey hair and an adorable mask on her face, we aren't quite sure what her breed mix is - poodle, terrier, or something else entirely. However, Cordelia very strongly resembles a German Wirehaired Pointer - just 30 lbs smaller!
Cordelia is the more friendly between the two, but some timidity remains. She seemse unfamiliar with life indoors - we expect the housebreaking process to begin from scratch. (*Note - she is getting better and better at keeping a clean kennel as her stay at the shelter continues.) She is uncertain on a leash, but she does not pull which is amazing! She is going to need a patient and faithful family to take her on, knowing that caring for an adult dog who may have never been treated as a family dog before is a work in process.
Despite all of this, Cordelia is innately gentle and sweet natured. She is responsive and eager to connect with people, even if her fears hold her back a little. She loves to sneak sweet little kisses, tail wagging hard.
She has a low-medium energy level, so once she relaxes, she's likely to just enjoy hanging out with you day-to-day. She's still figuring out how comfy couches are and what to do with toys, but we see her as a future couch potato and toy enjoyer once given the chance.

More about this shelter
Faithful Friends Animal Advocates, Inc is a non-profit organization committed to helping our community become a place where animals are treated with kindness and respect. Further, we want to be a voice for the welfare of animals in our community through various avenues.
We fulfill these goals by taking in homeless and vulnerable animals, rehabilitating, vetting, and preparing them for their future home, and ensuring that they are a good fit for those interested. Our goal is longevity - we are thorough when approving applications because we want their next home to be forever.
Our pledge to the animals under our charge knows no time limits. Our no-kill mission means that as long as it takes, we will keep searching for their perfect home. And if during that search, they need to rejoin our care, we welcome them with open arms no matter how long it has been.
People
From our paid staff to volunteers that support us at events and throughout the week, the dedicated and passionate community members that are involved in FFAA's mission are what keep us going. We always welcome new faces! If you are interested or know someone who would like to support our efforts, please contact us. We could not do it without our foster families, dog walkers, kennel cleaners, puppy and kitten socializers, event organizers, artists, chefs - everything we do is a group effort and thanks to the time and effort given freely and faithfully year after year.
