My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🐾✨ Meet Smokey! ✨🐾
Smokey is a 2.5-year-old handsome, athletic boy and a true gentle giant at heart. He is fully vetted, weighs 67 lbs, and has been patiently waiting for his forever family with Journey’s Legacy since June 2024 🏡. Rescued from Animal Control, Smokey is ready to bring love, fun, and adventure into the right home.
With his sleek black-and-white coat 🖤🤍 and tall, powerful frame, Smokey definitely turns heads—but it’s his sweet, easygoing personality that truly steals hearts. He loves all people and is great with kids 👧🧒, always happy to soak up attention and affection.
Smokey enjoys the company of some dogs and does best with pups who aren’t bossy. He’s very much a go-with-the-flow kind of guy—sweet, gentle, and happy to coexist with dog friends who respect his laid-back vibe.
One important thing to know about Smokey: he’s a big jumper 🦘 and will need a secure, fenced-in yard. He’s basically a stallion who wants to run free, stretch his long legs, and enjoy the outdoors safely.
This tall, active boy ⚡ would thrive in a home that enjoys staying on the move—walking, running, hiking 🥾, swimming 🏊‍♂️, or just spending lots of time outside. After too long in a kennel, Smokey is more than ready to explore the world 🌎 with his forever family.

More about this rescue

Journey's Legacy is a small rescue in Cleveland, TN. We save dogs from the local shelter, off the streets, and occasionally owner surrenders if there is room or an urgent need. We have dogs in foster homes, boarding facilities, and the ranch. We specialize in medium to large breed dogs. We are working hard to get laws to change to require pet owners to spay and neuter their pets to stop the overpopulation of animals.
