Max is a sensitive, low-key guy who wants a calm home and a person he can bond with deeply. He’s not a social dog and doesn’t enjoy busy environments, high activity, or a lot of new interactions — he’s happiest with his person, his routines, and a peaceful space where he can just exist comfortably.
Max would prefer to be the only dog in the home, soaking up all the love and attention for himself. But in his current foster home, he has been learning how to live with other dogs and is becoming increasingly respectful. His quick or unexpected movements can make other dogs unsure of him, but he truly just wants calm, predictable companionship and a comfy place to sleep.
Max is crate trained, potty trained, and enjoys walks, though he takes the world in at his own pace. In the car, he rides best when he’s in a kennel — otherwise he likes to wander the cabin, which isn’t ideal for safety. Give him a secure spot, and he settles in just fine.
His foster describes him as sweet, goofy, and incredibly loyal. He loves quiet couch time, bedtime snuggles, and being close to his person without any pressure to be “on.”
