Here's what the humans have to say about me:
💗 Serena – A Gentle Soul Waiting for Her Turn to Shine 💗
Serena’s story isn’t loud or flashy — it’s quiet, soft, and full of hope. This 1½-year-old, 42.6 lb sweetheart is timid at first, the kind of girl who watches the world carefully before deciding it’s safe to trust. But once she does… her whole heart is yours.
Behind those shy eyes is the most loving spirit — one that craves gentle hands, kind voices, and a place where she finally belongs. Serena adores toys and finds joy in simple play, especially when she knows someone is cheering her on. She gets along beautifully with other dogs and would blossom even more with a confident canine friend or a patient human who understands that love takes time.
Her adoption fee of $40 includes her spay, rabies and distemper/parvo vaccines, fecal test for parasites, basic dewormer, and a full vet exam — everything she needs to start her new life healthy and loved.
Serena has waited so patiently for someone to see her for who she is — a gentle, loyal heart just longing for home. 🩷
If you’d like to meet Serena and help her story finally have a happy ending, please call 256-362-5856 to schedule an appointment.

More about this shelter
We are the Animal Control Facility for the City of Talladega. We provide animal control services for the City of Talladega. We work with lots of rescues all over the US and Canada. We do some local adoptions but don't have many people come in locally looking to adopt. A lot of our pets are transferred to our rescue partners. We do accept donations of cleaning supplies, dry cat/kitten, dry dog/puppy food, cat litter, and chew toys. We are also always looking for short term foster homes for our pets going to rescues. Usually it's only for a 2-4 week period before the pet leaves for his/her rescue. If you are interested feel free to contact us at 256-362-5856
