Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Akira!
Akira is a beautiful and friendly girl and, though she's 12 years old, she still has plenty of pep in her step and is always up for a walk. Her calm, affectionate, and easy going demeanor quickly wins people over, before you know it you'll be secretly passing her bites of your meal and inviting her up on the couch for snuggles. Akira has previously lived with other dogs, she's playful at times but generally prefers just coexisting and enjoying their company. She doesn't have much experience with cats, but due to her breed and size we would recommend a slow introduction to ensure the safety and comfort of all animals. Akira would prefer an teens+ or adult only home (peace, maturity, and quiet are any old dog's dream) and she can't wait to find a family to love her throughout her golden years.
Akira is currently in foster care, if you are interested in her please complete an adopter’s profile at parl.org and email cshamgochian@parl.org to set up a meet and greet

The first step in our adoption process is to submit an adopter profile through our website. We then encourage you to visit PARL at 34 Elbow Street and get to know the animals we have available. You do not need an appointment, and we invite you to visit us often. PARL’s goal is to assist you in finding your best match for a lifelong companion.
When you arrive, you’ll sign PARL’s visitor log, and staff will direct you to PARL’s cat rooms, small animal spaces, or dog kennels (depending on your preference.) We encourage you to spend time outside with the dogs, or petting our cats and small animals. Please ask questions -- that's why we're here.
If you don't find what you are looking for the first time, please come see us again! Chances are that we will have some new furry friends available for adoption, and one of them might be purr-fect for you!
