My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ginger is a pittie mix confiscated by police in a cruelty case. Her owners starved her, shot her in the eye and then gave her to dog fighters.....and had the audacity to try to get her back!

Fortunately rescue stepped up! She is now fully vetted: spayed, all vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative.

Ginger is a really great dog but she is very strong. She is crate trained but not fond of staying in it for long periods. She is good with all dogs big and little...but she is big and strong and may knock some of the smaller dogs over. She loves kids...but same rule applies! She just doesn't know her size when she is trying to love everyone and every thing.

Walks on a leash, rides in a car well...loves rides! She plays fetch and loves bones and squeak toys. She does not like to be hot....and no one knows how she is with cats.

Her eye is healed completely but she is vision impaired in that eye. You may need to wipe it sometimes but no meds are required.

She is not a picky eater and has no known allergies.

This is a very friendly big red girl....and we would love to get her a home of her own where she is safe! Let's talk!

More about this rescue

BMAR is a No-Kill facility: a place of safety for healthy adoptable animals, a home for the homeless, a haven for the mistreated, neglected, or abused animals of Sabine & surrounding counties. BMAR also runs a sanctuary for those deemed unadoptible due to medical and behavior issues.

100% Volunteer Rescue. We have no animal control, Humane Society, or SPCA operating in our area leaving animals in dire straights.

BMAR is dedicated to the prevention of cruelty & abuse to all animals & livestock.

We currently only adopt to states and Canada where we have a network in place to monitor animals and help with problems.

BMAR backs it's dogs for life and will take back no matter how long and at any time if circumstance arise and you cannot keep your pet.
