Sterling is a handsome 1-year-old neutered male Hound/Dane mix with a sleek black and white coat and a gentle spirit. While he can be a little shy at first, once he feels comfortable, his sweet and affectionate personality shines through.
Sterling enjoys going on walks and would thrive in a home with a fenced-in backyard where he can stretch his long legs and enjoy some outdoor time. He can be a bit nervous with loud noises, so a calmer home with older kids would be ideal for this sensitive boy. He seems to be dog selective, so a meet and greet is required to ensure a good match. But one thing that’s sure to win him over? Food! Treats are definitely the way to Sterling’s heart, and once you’ve earned his trust, you’ll find a loyal and loving companion who just wants to be by your side.
If you’re looking for a gentle, kindhearted friend with soulful eyes and a heart full of love, Sterling is ready to meet you!

More about this shelter
The Colony Animal Services strives to protect andTCAS LOGO-UPDATED nurture The City of The Colony’s lost, homeless, abused, injured, and sick pets. We seek to provide animals the opportunity to be reclaimed, adopted, rehabilitated, or rescued. It is the mission for the Animal Service Officers and volunteers to pursue a positive synergy and to serve the citizens and pets of The Colony.
Animal Services is committed to saving each and every animal that comes into our care. Over the last few years, we have improved our live release rate to 97%. We hold our standards high at keeping this percentage, and in doing so, we ask our rescue partners and citizens to help us pursue finding our animals forever homes.
Every year, we get over a hundred injured and sick animals that need our help. In order for us to help them, we use our donated medical fund to give them the proper care and treatment they need. The only way for us to provide this needed medical care is through our generous financial donors. Every penny donated is sent to our medical fund. Please help us continue this much needed medical care for our animals by donating. Even if you cannot donate, it is a huge help to share posts on social media.
