My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Age: 2 years (FIV+)

Meet Mae – our sweet, petite lady!

At just 2 years old, Mae’s story has already been full of ups and downs. She was found in Pennsylvania with her 2 tiny, 2–3 month old kittens. Tragically, before our foster could reach them, Mae’s kittens were stolen—leaving her all alone. Heartbreaking, right? But we made sure Mae got the care and love she deserves.

When Mae arrived, she was battling a tough upper respiratory infection and had some dental issues, but with loving veterinary care, she bounced back beautifully. Mae is the definition of gentle and affectionate—she loves a good rub and will often nuzzle for attention. While she’s still learning to play (which is common for cats who’ve been on the streets), she’s curious and ready to explore at her own pace.

Mae is FIV+, but don’t let that scare you! FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) affects a cat’s immune system, but it cannot be transmitted through normal day-to-day interactions like sharing bowls, litter boxes, or playing. Mae can safely live with other cats who are healthy or FIV+. With the right care, she can enjoy a long, happy life filled with love.

Mae is ready to find her forever home—could it be with you? Her adoption fee is $75.

Additional adoption info

The time it takes to process an application largely depends on the speed at which we are able to contact personal references. If approved, we go over an adoption contract that the adopter will sign, and it is at this time that an adoption fee is required. If an adoption does not work out for any reason, our adoption contract requires that the kitty be returned to Furrever Friends Rescue and Volunteers, Inc.

More about this rescue

We are a foster-based no-kill cat rescue that is working to better the lives of cats in Gloucester and Camden Counties. We do not euthanize any of the animals in our care simply to make room for new ones. Although our operation is small, each and every homeless pet in our program receives the absolute best care possible until a furrever home can be found.
We are small... but mighty. Every animal saved is a victory.
Furrever Friends Rescue and Volunteers, Inc. (FFRV) is an all-volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit that strives to save the lives of homeless animals.

Furrever Friends operates entirely on donations from caring individuals such as yourself. And, because Furrever Friends is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, your cash donations are tax-deductible. Checks can be made out to "Furrever Friends."

Our volunteers work hard to:
-Provide safe, loving care in foster homes until a furrever family can be found.
-Spay/neuter and vaccinate pets prior to adoption to help control the pet overpopulation problem.
-Find new Furrever Homes for animals only after carefully screening potential adopters.
-Raise funds through special events and projects to cover veterinary and food costs.
-Fund emergency medical care to injured or abused animals in the FFRV program through "Geronimo's Fund".
-Showcase homeless animals at various venues to help find them homes, including our PetSmart Adoption Center in Deptford, NJ.
