Meet Sport

Sport is a gentle 6-year-old, 19-pound Beagle/Terrier mix who came from a recent hoarding case. After spending years in an overwhelming environment, he’s now learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and cared for — one quiet day at a time.

Sport is still quite shy and cautious with people, but he’s already showing little signs of progress that make his foster so proud. He’s begun exploring the outdoors on his own and even surprised himself the first time he did! While he’s still learning to enjoy affection and leashing up can feel scary for him, he allows handling and is taking everything at his own gentle pace.

He gets along well with other dogs and even cats, preferring to quietly observe them rather than jump into play just yet. Sport is not house-trained, but he’s calm when left alone and doesn’t bark.

This sweet boy is looking for a patient, compassionate adopter (or foster) who can give him the time and understanding he needs to come out of his shell. With love, structure, and maybe even a confident dog friend to show him the ropes, Sport will continue to blossom and discover the joys of being a beloved family member.

Sometimes the most rewarding dogs are the ones who take the longest to trust — and Sport is ready to start that journey with his special someone.

Submit Application

Complete an adoption application for either a Dog or Cat here: https://www.pupstarzrescue.org/application

2.
Interview

We will review your application, set up time to discuss your needs/preferences, and conduct reference checks.

3.
Home Check

We will schedule a virtual home check that takes approximately 20-30 minutes, talking to you about adoption and any concerns you may have.

4.
Meet the Pet

Once your interview is complete, we will connect you with the foster parent to meet the dog/cat.

5.
Pay Fee

You will pay the adoption fee and take home your new family member!

6.
Take the Pet Home

You'll bring home your new family member!

PupStarz Rescue is an animal welfare group committed to the rescue and rehabilitation of dogs and cats in public shelters at high risk of euthanasia, as well as those in danger of abuse. We are committed to rescuing as many animals as possible, saving over 4,500 dogs and cats since 2015.

PupStarz Rescue ensures that adoptions are an appropriate match for both the animal and their new family by educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a furry companion into their lives.

We are committed to the welfare of our "Starz" beyond the adoption process. We maintain open communication with our adopters to ensure a smooth transition, and offer additional support such as positive training techniques.
