Meet Marly – The Sweet & Cautious Malinois Mix
Marly is a 1-year-and-4-month-old Belgian Malinois mix who came in with her brother, Mango. She’s currently part of our Shy Dog Program, gaining confidence every day, and learning to navigate unfamiliar environments and new people at her own pace. This smart girl already knows sit, stay, leave it, and come, and walks well on leash — though she can get spooked sometimes. Marly is head-shy and nervous around things being thrown, even toys, so she does best with gentle, calm guidance.
Once she feels safe, Marly’s affection and loyalty shine. She’s eager to connect, learn, and build trust with a patient, loving person who will help her blossom. If you’re looking for a thoughtful, sensitive, and intelligent companion to grow with, Marly is ready to meet you — she just needs a calm hand and a big heart.

All shelter locations are conducting animal viewing and adoptions on a first come, first serve basis. We are not able to move a pet from one location to another for your viewing.
The adoption fee is waived for all available pets in care and in foster homes. Standard adoption practices will still be in place, including background checks.

The City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department (AWD) expanded the shelter days of service to seven days a week with operational hours of 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and pet viewing from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m for both the east and west side shelter locations.
