My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Roger, our resilient two-year-old pittie mix with a heart full of love and a story of survival.

Before he ever reached the shelter, Roger was rescued from a heartbreaking situation—he had been living in a hotel room, confined in a crate with two other dogs. Despite all that, he remained gentle and kind, just waiting for someone to give him a chance.

When Roger landed on the euthanasia list at a local Orlando shelter, he was saved just in time. Within hours of being pulled, it was discovered that he was suffering from gastroenteritis, and he had to be rushed to the ER. After treatment and a week of care with one of our amazing medical fosters, Roger made a full recovery. His most recent bloodwork came back completely clear, and he’s now healthy, strong, and ready for his forever home.

Roger loves people of all ages, including kids, and is happiest when he’s around his humans. He’s still learning how to meet other dogs—he’s been with dogs before and shows potential—but for now, he would do best either as a solo dog or with slow, careful introductions.

This sweet, affectionate boy has been through so much and come out shining. He’s finally ready to experience the comfort and love of a forever home where he can truly relax and be adored for the wonderful dog he is. Roger is ready for his second chance at happiness.

Additional adoption info

All of our dogs and cats come spayed/neutered and vaccinated! Some of the pups will only have their first round of shots and may need rabies if they are under 3 months old. But other than that, these babies come ready to go! Our adoption fees vary, please inquire about each dog's individual fees. We do have cats and kittens available from time to time, so please inquire if you are looking for a feline pal! With their vetting, flights and care, we only ask for the adoption donation to help offset costs and make sure our adopters are serious. We love our rescues like we love our family. They mean the world to us and we just want to see them in good loving homes! And please check back as we are always adding new rescues to this page.

More about this rescue

We approach each every situation with an open mind. We work to build respect and trust with the partners, communities and countries we work in. With their acceptance, we build a plan together to meet the most pressing issues. We listen, learn and solve the needs together. We look for solutions that are integrated, scale-able, and sustainable. At Compassion Kind, we work with governments, institutions, local leaders, civil society organizations, foundations and businesses around the world to ensure that the most vulnerable beings are heard, and that they get the assistance they need to sustain from within the communities. Our teams and partners advocate for capacity building training and grass roots techniques so we make a lasting impact, create measurable change and operate as efficiently as possible.
