Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Juliette!
This beautiful 5-year-old girl weighs around 52 pounds and has a heart as tender as can be. Juliette is a gentle soul who’s looking for someone patient and kind to help her come out of her shell. She can be shy at first, but with a little time and love, she begins to show her sweet and sensitive nature.
Juliette thrives in a calm and reassuring environment where she can feel safe and secure. She would likely do best as the only dog in her new home so she can soak up all the love and attention she deserves. However, if there is another dog in her forever home, Juliette would do best with a polite, easygoing companion who’s content to simply coexist. We have never seen Juliette in a home with cats, but we think she shows potential to live with cats so long as a slow, thoughtful introduction is done in the home.
Once Juliette feels comfortable, her affectionate personality shines through, and she’ll reward your patience with endless loyalty and love. If you’re ready to open your heart to a gentle and sensitive companion, Juliette would love to meet you! Come visit her at the Humane Society of Summit County, 752 West Portage Trail.

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.
We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.
Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter
Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
