Toph is a beautiful Boxer–Pit Bull mix who has already done one of the hardest jobs there is—she came to the shelter pregnant, raised her puppies, and now it’s finally her turn to be loved. The shelter can feel overwhelming for her at times, but once she gets to know you, her true self shines through. She has the softest, most gentle demeanor and leans into you for comfort, offering sweet little kisses in return. Toph is truly the definition of a tender-hearted dog who just wants a calm, cozy home and a warm bed to curl up in this winter. After everything she’s given, Toph is ready to settle down and be someone’s very special girl.

All shelter locations are conducting animal viewing and adoptions on a first come, first serve basis. We are not able to move a pet from one location to another for your viewing.
The adoption fee is waived for all available pets in care and in foster homes. Standard adoption practices will still be in place, including background checks.

The City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department (AWD) expanded the shelter days of service to seven days a week with operational hours of 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and pet viewing from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m for both the east and west side shelter locations.
