My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Skittle is small in size but large in character. He is full of energy for playing and running around, chasing his bigger brother, Pringle. He loves treats more than anything and will move faster than light (almost) when he realizes they are being offered.

He can also be very careful and calculating, quite the little mastermind and slow to let his guard down. Once he trusts you, he will be your little buddy.

Skittle likes to be petted when he is relaxed and lying down. Neck rubs and gentle petting on the back are his favourites. He has too much energy and curiosity to settle down as a lap cat just yet, and prefers not to be carried around.

He can be quite vocal, from the sweetest, heartbreaking little meow when begging for treats, to trilling, even a random little hiss when he gets too excited. It just seems to be part of his vocabulary.

Must adopt with Pringle.

Submit Application

Before submitting an application, we ask that you review the information on cat care and our policies here: https://www.vokra.ca/adopt

2.
Interview

Our adoption counsellors focus on educating our adopters on cat care. Once approved, they use a matching process to find your perfect pet.

3.
Meet the Pet

When you find a kitty you like, you will arrange an appointment with the foster home - where the kitty feels most comfortable and confident.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

Our adoptions contract process includes reviewing critical cat care information and providing contacts for post-adoption advice.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Woo hoo! You will be expected to take the kitty to a free post-adoption vet check within 2 weeks, and follow up on any required vet care.

Additional adoption info

Each year more than 1,400 cats and kittens are adopted through VOKRA. We're always here after the adoption if you need ongoing advice.

Response times can vary, depending on the time of year and available volunteer resources. Applications and help requests for non-emergency issues will usually receive a response in 1-3 days.
